Yes. We provide counseling in English in Korea for adults and couples. This service is for people who feel more comfortable speaking in English, need emotional support while living in Korea, or want to work with a therapist who can understand both emotional struggles and cross-cultural context. Counseling can take place in a warm, respectful, and confidential setting.
We work with adults and couples, including expats, international students, professionals, and English-speaking clients living in Korea. We also work with people who may not identify as βforeignersβ but still find that English feels like a more natural or safer language for emotional expression. Some clients come for personal struggles, while others come for relationship difficulties or life transitions.
We often work with anxiety, self-criticism, shame, depression, emotional overwhelm, loneliness, burnout, relationship distress, and repeated painful patterns in close relationships. We also work with difficulties related to adjustment, cultural isolation, identity, and feeling emotionally stuck while living in a foreign environment. Sometimes clients do not have one clear problem, but they know they have been carrying too much for too long.
Our work is grounded in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). This means we do not see people simply as problems to be diagnosed or fixed. We try to understand each person with respect, emotional depth, and care, while helping them explore how their emotions, self-experience, and relationship patterns are connected. The goal is not only relief, but deeper understanding and meaningful change.
No. You do not need perfect English to begin counseling. This is not an English test. You can take your time, pause, search for words, and speak in a way that feels natural to you. What matters most is not perfect language, but whether we can stay close to your experience and help you express what feels important.
Counseling with us is not mainly about giving quick advice or judging whether you are right or wrong. We pay close attention to your emotions, your inner experience, and the patterns that keep repeating in your life and relationships. We may explore not only what happened, but also what it felt like inside, what it meant to you, and what you may truly need underneath. We aim to create a space where you can feel understood, not evaluated.
Yes. We work with clients who are living in Korea while navigating emotional, relational, and cultural challenges in English. This may include loneliness, pressure, homesickness, identity struggles, feeling misunderstood, or difficulties in cross-cultural relationships. We also work with couples who want to better understand the emotional cycle between them, rather than staying stuck in repeated arguments or distance.
Yes. Confidentiality is taken seriously. What you share in counseling is not disclosed to family members, employers, schools, or institutions without your consent. Exceptions may apply only when disclosure is required to protect your safety or the safety of others, or when required by law. These limits can be explained clearly before counseling begins.β
Yes, online sessions are available if this format is suitable for your situation. Online counseling can be helpful for clients who live in different areas, have busy schedules, or feel more comfortable beginning therapy from their own space. What matters most is creating a consistent and emotionally safe place for the work.
